Some thoughts:
Trust
Trust is something that is earned, not given. It takes a significant amount of time and effort to build trust, but it can be lost in a moment.
Transparency is required for trust to exist. Trust is difficult to maintain in a judgemental environment.
If trust exists, communication is forthright and unhampered. Without trust, information is withheld.
Motto
The Universe has a limited amount of energy, and I intend to use my share productively.

Warning!
On the Fourth of July, Daddy was away in CA. I had Missy and Man home and we were expecting to go out to see fireworks after dark.
All day long the threat of thunderstorms was present and we were under a tornado watch. By late afternoon, we were intently watching the radar. Sometime after 4pm, the storms were bad enough that the National Weather Service announced a Tornado Warning in our county. This means that a tornado has been spotted and residents should take cover immediately.
We were already prepared for this possibility and I had told the kids that if a warning was announced, we would go sit under the stairs. So, this is exactly what we did. We took flashlights (kid comfort), a book to read to them, chairs (for some amount of comfort under there), and the weather radio. After about 20 minutes under the stairs, the radio announced that the storm had significantly weakened (fell apart) and that the tornado warning was cancelled.
We came out from under the stairs with our things and Man said, "I'm sure glad that nortado is over!"
NORTADO! That's a keeper!
