Moon

Man and I had just dropped Missy off this morning, when I looked out my window and saw the moon. Immediately, I recited,

"I see the moon,
The moon sees me,
God bless the moon,
God bless me."

This is pretty normal for the kids and I when we are driving around and we see the moon during the day.

Then Man says,

'Mommy, the sky is the moon's home."

Yep, babe, you're right.

I wouldn't have thought of it quite like that, but I can't find fault with it.

I love it!

Steinbeck Quote of the Day

"You can boast about anything if it's all you have. Maybe the less you have, the more you are required to boast."

Wife

I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE should be entitled to having a wife.

Including me.

Husbands are only good for one thing. For everything else, GET A WIFE!

Gone

Indy did get laid off.

Bummer.

He and Tine had a lunch date today, but he didn't show. Apparently, he had an interview across the street with the fuse group, eventhough the job wasn't a great match. Noone knows the result of that.

Bummer.

I'm afraid that there will be many more bummers soon.

Glum

It is pretty glum around here. Layoffs have been announced, but they are withholding the notifications for some unknown reason(s). Tine is pretty worried. A couple others aren't. Most of the old-timers are worried about each other.

I don't take any comfort in anything that anyone tells me.

I don't want to be blindsided.

We may know by the end of the week. Others are expecting to know tomorrow.

No fun.

I'm already feeling the pain, no matter what happens to me.

Birthday Blues???

I am having birthday blues? I didn't that was possible with me.

We are going to Vaccaro's for dessert "lunch" tomorrow.

No, what I'm really bummed about is that we only have 3 or 4 offers of help for our move this weekend. Bummed. Double bummed.

It would be so much easier if we had 20 people show up. But it certainly doesn't look like that is going to happen.

=(

Takes Two to Tango

...and I don't want to, in this case.

I'm being countered on every point I give for justification of going to NVO.

I'm done tangoing.

Let it be as it will be.

I am weak when on the spot justifying a position. I think better later.

No more tango on this.

Done.

Chesapeake Shakespeare

Chesapeake Shakespeare is doing weekend performances of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in a park in historic Ellicott City during the month of June. Every Sunday performance is a "family performance." They have face painting and a "show before the show." You can bring your own chairs or blanket or use their chairs.

On Father's Day, they are admitting all fathers for free with a child of any age. I would love to do this, and I have emailed Tracy to see if they are interested. If I actually get tickets for us, then I will get the book and Cliff Notes from the library. They also have a version for kids. I will get that too.

Snubbed Again

The owners of the new house next door subbed us again yesterday.

Missy was playing in the backyard with the mini-football. It happened to roll across their new driveway into their front yard.

She ran over to get it.

They came driving (slowly) up the driveway. She waved to them, they drove slowly past, and then she ran back over to our yard.

When the lady got out of their vehicle, I called out, "Sorry about that!"

I don't recall if she even looked up, but she did respond, "That's okay."

I continued to stand there, hoping for a bit more discussion or something. Nope. She got her dog and walked straight into their house.

Oh well. I guess Blucky is right: It's easier this way. We don't have to try to be nice to them.

But it's my nature to be nice.

The other neighbor lady was out with the dog for a few minutes. We waved to each other and said hi. She appears to be pregnant. Probably their first.

Palm Trees

I brought in 3 palm trees this morning and hung them on my wall. All we need now is some sand, and this office will be a beach!

Not Interested

If the all trees are as tall as I am throughout the neighborhood and I can read my neighbor's newspaper while standing in my own house, we aren't interested.

Belief

It is interesting to see how showing belief in a person can dramatically change the tone of the conversation.

He beat her to it

Bucko beat her to it. He wants a separation from Zody and he wants the kids. This is after he has signed the affidavit to allow her to take the kids to Sitarland at the end of this month, but it says this is allowed only if there is no dispute.

Zody got her two PI proposals and the one she CoI-ed. That's three. And money beyond August.

Now what?

Yikes.
